FLIGHTS
We recommend flying into Lisbon (LIS) Humberto Delgado Airport. Major airlines including TAP Portugal, British Airways, Delta and United fly to Lisbon either nonstop, or with 1 stop along the way.
Once you arrive at the Lisbon airport, you'll head through customs then collect baggage. There is airport WiFi, so you will be able to connect and order an Uber. As you exit baggage claim, turn left and head straight out the doors to the passenger pickup area (this is actually pretty well marked, though the pickup line is a little chaotic). If you choose to take a taxi, be aware that many do not take credit cards, so have Euros. ​

We will be staying in Sintra from Thursday, August 21, to Sunday, August 24, at Penha Longa Resort. August is high travel season in Portugal, so please book accommodations sooner than later. Sintra is a charming, yet quieter town, so is ideal if you’re looking to chill. Recommended hotels in Sintra:

If you’re looking for a lively beach scene, we recommend staying in Cascais. It is about 20 minutes from Sintra, and we will be looking to provide transportation to / from the wedding from this area. Recommended hotels:

TRANSPORTATION IN PORTUGAL
Ubers are reasonably priced. On our recent trip, to get from the airport to Lisbon city center it was about 15 euros.
Sintra is about 20 miles (30-45 mins) outside of Lisbon and is accessible by car, bus, or train. Multiple trains per hour depart from Estação do Rossio in downtown Lisbon; for info please visit www.cp.pt.
We recommend using public transportation when possible. Subway map of Lisbon is here, and it uses tap to pay, if you have that setup on your phone.
